Vicki Kurz
Senior Consultant
Vicki has broad knowledge of issues and trends (local, regional, provincial and global) impacting destination development and business retention. With over 12 years in municipal/board settings, she has gained a keen understanding of interpreting and implementing strategies, municipal procedures and legislation, and the importance of creating relevant statutory documents.
Her strengths lie in budgeting, stakeholder engagement, report writing, and project management. Vicki is skilled at producing results independently, interdepartmentally, and/or regionally to achieve desired outcomes within a realistic timeline when guided by a well-defined work plan.
Vicki has practical on-the-ground involvement in the development of municipal official plans and area structure plans. By contributing in a collaborative manner, she is cognizant of what elements and policies are required to successfully transform a community in preparation for business and investment attraction.
The tourism and hospitality industries offer a community the opportunity to diversify from, and in-turn, support resource-based industries. Vicki has successfully hosted community familiarization tours, in cooperation with local and provincial stakeholders, and introduced annual investor forums which have piqued the interest of large-scale investors. Strategic planning and implementation, supported by a dedicated municipal government and a focused budget, have proven to be essential components for successful investment attraction and destination development throughout my career.
